The new edition of Network Code was approved with the Public Utilities Commission Council decision No.1/4 on 26 June 2013. The Network Code was published on the official publisher „Latvijas Vēstnesis” on 2 July 2013 and it took effect the day after the publication.

The new edition introduces changes made in sections regarding interconnection capacities, congestion management and prevention of overload, as well as transmission system balancing and power trade; also, some clauses were defined more precisely.
