The TSO ensures voltage levels in the electricity system within the range specified in the Network Code. Voltage levels in the electricity system depend on active power flows and the reactive power balance. The TSO uses various measures to ensure voltage ranges for stable operation of the transmission system, including requesting changes to the reactive output power or voltage setting of the electricity generation modules connected to the transmission system and/or activating automatic voltage and reactive power control of significant grid users connected to the transmission system.
Voltage regulation is one of the non-frequency related system ancillary services. In order to ensure availability of the voltage regulation ancillary service, promote fair access and transparent procedures in the provision of the ancillary service, AS "Augstsprieguma tīkls" has developed and approved the standard agreement for the Voltage Regulation Ancillary Service and the Terms of Provision of the Voltage Regulation Service, which are an integral part of the agreement.
AS "Augstsprieguma tīkls" invites producers with technically compliant electricity generation modules or electricity storage batteries connected to the transmission system to participate in the provision of voltage regulation ancillary service and conclude a Voltage Regulation Ancillary Service Agreement.
