AS “Augstsprieguma tīkls” Plans to Issue up to EUR 100 Million in Bonds
Latvia’s transmission system operator AS “Augstsprieguma tīkls” (AST) continues to diversify its funding sources and plans to issue bonds in the capital markets in the autumn of 2026 in an amount of up to EUR 100 million to finance development projects. Following a procurement procedure, Luminor Bank AS has been selected as the arranger for the bond issue.
AST is assessing the possibility of conducting the issue in a green bond format. A decision on the issuance framework will be taken upon completion of the assessment and approval process. AST’s ten-year development plan envisages substantial investments in the modernization and development of the transmission network, ensuring the continued provision of reliable, secure, and sustainably efficient electricity transmission across Latvia. In 2021, AST successfully debuted in the bond market.
In 2025, AST ranked 9th in the TOP101 of Latvia’s most valuable companies, organized by Prudentia and Nasdaq Riga. The international credit rating agency S&P Global Ratings has assigned AST a long-term credit rating of A-. The company has achieved Platinum status in the Sustainability Index. The Baltic energy independence project “Synchronisation with Europe,” implemented by AST in cooperation with transmission system operators from the Baltic States and Poland, has received international recognition, including the prestigious Project of the Year award from the Project Management Institute (PMI).
