Nord Pool and AS “Augstsprieguma tikls” (further - AST) are planning to pilot shorter gate closure time (30 minutes prior to delivery hour) for Intraday trading staring from Wednesday, 11 January 2017 for Latvia and Estonia-Latvia border (for physical delivery on 12 January 2017). The pilot will join already ongoing pilot in Finland and in Estonia and on the Estlink cables, thus widening pilot area. The pilot is planned till 31 March 2017.

The pilot will allow all relevant parties (Nordic and Baltic TSOs, market participants and Nord Pool) to gain experience from being able to trade Intraday closer to the delivery hour.

The planned pilot would not have any effect on the procedures and timescales of market participants’ balancing reserves offers data provision to AST. Reporting of production plans during pilot execution is allowed no later than 15 minutes before delivery hour. During the pilot project there is also no need to conclude new or amend existing agreements due to market participants’ trades closer to real time.

The project parties may consider including other areas and interconnectors in the pilot of what market participants will be informed in due time.
