On February 14 at the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers it was decided to designate the Ministry of Climate and Energy as the holder of capital shares of JSC "Augstsprieguma tīkls". Thus, the participation of the Ministry of Climate and Energy - the makers of Energy policy - in the development of the transmission system operator JSC "Augstsprieguma tīkls" and JSC "Conexus Baltic Grid" is promoted. This involvement is an essential prerequisite for energy security.

Until now, the holder of capital shares of JSC "Augstsprieguma tīkls" was the Ministry of Finance.

It has already been reported that the Ministry of Climate and Energy, which was created by reorganizing the Ministry of Economy and the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Regional Development, has started its work on January 1, 2023. Functions related to the field of energy policy and the field of climate policy are performed by the Ministry of Climate and Energy.
