Participation in PCI Energy Days exhibition

IMG_5516.JPGOn 19 and 20 March, Augstsprieguma tīkls joined the PCI Energy Days conference and exhibition devoted to energy infrastructure projects and organised by the European Commission (EC) in Brussels; in it, AS ‘Augstsprieguma tīkls’ presented its ‘Third Latvia/Estonia interconnection’ project.

The PCI Energy Days conference and exhibition is devoted to the promotion of common interests. During the event various entities completing projects all over Europe could present their projects and share their experience implementing them.

The participants demonstrated ways to build safe and eco-friendly energy infrastructure using innovative technological solutions, involving local communities and looking for new approaches to financing. PCI Energy Days brought together 350 participants.

The ‘Third Latvia/Estonia interconnection’ project has been granted co-financing from the European Union Connecting Europe Facility, covering 65% of its expenses. The total amount of investments in the project is 84 million euros, and the project is to be completed in 2020.

The PCI Energy Days conference is organised by the EC Directorate-General for Energy, responsible for EU energy policy, providing Europe with secure, sustainable and competitive energy.
