New members of the AST Supervisory Board have been appointed

On Monday, 30 December, at the extraordinary general meeting of shareholders of AS Augstsprieguma tīkls, it was decided to appoint four members of the Supervisory Board of AS Augstsprieguma tīkls according to the recommendations of the independent commission consisting of the representatives of the Cross-sectoral Coordination Centre and the Latvian Trade Union Enerģija: Kaspars Āboliņš, Armands Eberhards, Madars Melnis and Aigars Ģērmanis. Whereas, after evaluating her achievements so far, the shareholders decided to extend Olga Bogdanova’s term of office. She has been a member of the Supervisory Board since 18 October 2016.

Kaspars Āboliņš already performed the duties of a member in the Supervisory Boardof AS Augstsprieguma tīkls until the announcement of this competition and the adoption of a decision. In addition to the position of a member of the Supervisory Board of JSC Augstsprieguma tīkls, he is the Treasurer. Kaspars Āboliņš has worked on the Board of Directors of the Nordic Investment Bank for more than 10 years.

The appointed member of the Supervisory Board is Armands Eberhards, Deputy State Secretary of the Ministry of Finance for the European Union Structural Funds and the Cohesion Fund. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of the European Investment Bank and the Deputy Director of the European Investment Fund.

Madara Melne, a member of the Supervisory Board of AS Augstsprieguma tīkls, has studied international business in France, as well as obtained a professional bachelor’s degree in Economics, with the qualification of head of the unit for international affairs at the University of Latvia. Currently, she is the Strategic Director of SIA CatchSmart.

Aigars Ģērmanis has a master's degree in Management Science, and in addition to the position of a member of the Supervisory Board of AS Augstsprieguma tīkls, he is the Chairman of the Board of SIA CRC Consulting. Prior to that, he held senior positions in companies in Latvia and abroad.

The term of office of the elected council members will expire on 30 December 2024.

All candidates for the vacancy were evaluated in accordance with the set criteria - in the first round of the competition, the documents submitted by the candidates and their compliance with the set basic requirements, their language knowledge, education, experience and reputation were evaluated. In the second round of the competition, the social competencies were assessed: strategic planning skills, decision-making and responsibility.

In the third round of the competition, the nomination commission assessed the candidates' professional knowledge, understanding of the management of state-owned companies, their activities and business ethics, knowledge of the principles of monitoring the company's activities (financial management, risk management), as well as candidates' presentations of AST development vision, priorities and proposals for their implementation.
